• The Vision
The vision of the ministry is to bring to the world the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to preach to the poor and to provde one more day of food, one more day of life, that there may be one more day of hope in which to tfind the one on whom the world awaits
(Luke 7:18-19). And having found him, to lay down their nets, leave their boats behind and follow Him so they may become fishers of men and proclaim the Gospel everywhere.
New ministries of Cocina del Amor have been raised up in Villa Neuva and Esquipulas, Guatemala, Cuba, and Managua, Nicaragua. As in the time of Christ, the world needs visionary leaders to awaken it to the task at hand. The enemy is encamped upon the gates of Christendom. For those who have eyes, let them see the world around them. Arise, take up your sword, the Holy Word of God, that you may live in peace and die of an old age, full of years and confident that God is in His Holy Kingdom. "And He said, 'Young man, I say to you - get up!'" (Luke 7:14).
• The Project of Love
In those days, there was a famine upon the land. They have farmed the barren slopes of the mountainse of Esquipulas, but they have found nothing but poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, and human depravity. The Project of Love in Esquipulas has become a monument to vision, creativity, drive, and resourcefulness. It is a beacon of hope in a lost society, teaching the Word of God along with new techniques that bring agricultural abundance to ground that was previously devoid f nutrients. It is a light of love, the hand of Christ upon a people too long ignored by the Church, the nation and the world. With your help, born again people will arise from the dust of this earth, just as the multipurpose center has arisen from the ashes of a barren land. With your help, the Gospel of Christ will go forward and lives will be changed. Ministry will pour forth from the kitchen, the clinic, the farming center, and the sanctuary. Depraved men will be saved from their sins and their wives and children will be saved from a life of unbelieveable misery and abuse.
• The Family
In 1999, when Annabella dies, many wondered how Pastor Jose' would pursue the vision God gave him for this ministry in the absence of his beloved wife and partner. But his focus has always been God first - move the ministry forward. And though the departure of Annabella left a large vacancy in the ministry and in Jose's heart, she left a legacy of five beautiful children who are growing daily in the Lord and who are in the process of finding their own footing, their own vision, their own mission in life. Presently, all are, in one way or another, involved in the work of Cocina del Amor.
The children are: Jose' Jr., age 20, who is the leader of the music and worship team; Karla, age 21, is the leader of the children's ministry; Priscilla, age 16, is Karla's assistant; Abaraham, age 19, is the audio/video technician; and Deborah is - uh, well - 8 year old delight, life of the party, and constant reminder that not all was lost when Annabella went home to be with the Lord. |
